Sport-Brella a Favorite Thing of Disney Family Fun Magazine
Neither rain, nor sleet, nor blazing sun can keep parents from attending
their kids’ outdoor sporting events—but now they can take shelter under
the Sport-Brella. With an expanse of nearly seven feet, it offers enough
roomfor younger siblings too.Our tester family loved howeasy itwas to set
up: simply pop it open and stick it in the ground using themetal stake at the
pole’s base. The umbrella’s canopy sports two zippered breeze vents, two small
storage pockets, and two foldout flaps you can stake in the ground for extra protection
against the elements. But the best thing about this oversize awning?
Your hands are free for cheering on the home team! Includes a carrying case, plus
stakes and cords for the flaps. SKLZ, $70 —AMY KALDOR-BULL

How does one travel on an airplane with the sportbrella? Can it be taken inboard or must it be checked? Rick, The Sport-Brella measures 54" x 4" x 4", and is allowed as carry-on by most airlines. We do recommend that you contact the airline first. The Sport-Brella XL will probably not make it past the airline attendant as it measures about 60". -SKLZ Team

Is this sturdy enough for heavy winds at the ocean. Is an additional sand anchor required? Dennis, Hi Dennis, Thank you for contacting us regarding the Sport Brella, I have had several comments from customers who absolutely love the Sport Brella when they take it to the beach. The important thing to remember if you have the wind is that you must use the heavy duty stakes and anchor cords to secure the unit. The fact that there is no ‘floor’ to the Sport Brella and there are two windows that unzip allows the wind to move through and under which keeps you from getting the balloon effect. If you have used tents at the beach you know what I mean. If you are going to have the Sport Brella in the upright position you will need to drive the extension pole into the sand along with the heavy duty stakes and tie downs to keep the unit secured. Hope this helps. -SKLZ Team

How many sizes does the Sport-Brella come in? I see on this site you offer a 9' and 8' one. On other sites, I see 7' mentioned.
Also, if you want to use it for a team, does the bench only work with the 9'? Hi Susan, Thank you for your question. The Sport Brella has two sizes which you see on our website standard 8 feet or XL 9 feet. There was some confusion on the measurements; some measured under from tip to tip and others measured overhead on the outside. The bench can be used for either of the Sport Brella’s fitting comfortably underneath. -SKLZ Team

Are you able to use this on concrete? There are some ball fields around my home that have concrete slab in the viewing areas? Christa, The Sport Brella can be used on the concrete. If you are experiencing a breezy day I would recommend having something available to weight down the edges of the Sport Brella. This could be as simple as getting some zip lock bags and filling them with sand or dirt. If you have the ability to use the tie downs that are also recommended to keep the Brella stable. -THE SKLZ TEAM

Can this be used as a sun umbrella without tying down the back? We are thinking about using it as a place to park coolers when we are at the beach Dana, Yes, you can absolutely use it like a traditional umbrella. If you visit sport-brella.com or facebook.com/sportbrella you will see all the different uses. -Sport-Brella Team
