Sports Equipment Donated by SKLZ During Holidays

When we moved the SKLZ Headquarters from Carmel Mountain to Carlsbad, we cleaned out our warehouse for the first time in...forever. We found a lot of stuff. Fortunately, we serendipitously met Olga Lugan, who works in the Code Enforcement Division at the City of Oceanside, and she was incredibly helpful in seeing that as many of our spare training aids and sporting equipment got into welcoming hands for the 2009 holidays. We are gracious for her help.

Below is a note from Olga, and a list of charitable organizations that would appreciate any support you can give.

City of Oceanside Resource Centers- Crown Heights, Chavez/ Balderrama, Libby Lake & San Luis Rey. All of the children that are in programs in these needy areas were given toys and some of them received footballs. We also gave the managers of these centers footballs for their after school programs to use for recreation.

Other charities where the footballs went are:

Brother Benno's with outreach to the homeless & poverty level children of the North County area.

Casa de Amparo- the children here really enjoyed the footballs and couldn't put them down! this center is for abused children that are living in dorm style homes.

Family Recovery Center- meeting the needs of families in drug/alcohol recovery. These parents or single parents are in house and some are out patients. Most of them don't have any income to buy presents, so some of the footballs went to them for gifts they could give their children.

Women's Resource Center- we were able to provide up to 3 presents for 21 children at the last minute. These children abruptly entered the program and were provided some footballs you donated.

Vista School District- one of our employees knew of an afterschool program that needed some equipment. The rest of the footballs went to them along with the lefty golf clubs. Kirk Mundt is our contact for this group. His direct line is 760-435-3955 if you need to speak with him.
